A lot of people drive to different places for vacations during winter. You can either use your own car for making these trips or you can hire one from a rental company. In case of the latter choice, you need to be aware of the limitations and conditions associated with the service. Sometimes you may not be allowed to cross the state boundary with a rented vehicle.

  1. Los Angeles to Chicago on Route 66

This is an eastward drive along the famous highway 66. As the song suggests, “Get your kicks on route 66”, this drive is one of the most popular ones in America and rightfully so, with the beautiful green path dotted with typical diners on the way along with a taste of the backwaters in this region.

  1. Olympic National Park to San Diego

This 1500 mile long drive to the west is along the pacific coast. The ideal destinations reached by this route are San Diego and VancouverAirport. Along the way you also pass the Washington state harbors. The Columbia River provides a breathtaking image of the water flowing through the green surroundings. You also pass the countryside of Oregon and the sun kissed beaches of Southern California.

  1. Arizona to Canada

Starting from the desert land of Arizona if you drive along highway 93 and continue towards SonoraDesert you reach Los Angeles or you may divert to CalgaryAirport in Canada. On the way you reach route 66 and take on “The Loneliest Road” which is a deserted stretch of highway with the most breathtaking surroundings that you can experience while driving through America. This ultimately takes you to Las Vegas, the gamblers’ paradise.

Statistically, it is much more common to die in a road accident than while traveling in a train, bus or airplane. With an ever increasing number of cars entering the roads of the country, and most of the drivers having little or no regard for traffic rules, more than 6 million accidents take place every year in America in which half a million people die despite of most states in the country implying legitimate speed limits and seat belt laws.
